Waterloo Solar is 100% South African-owned by Old Mutual Ideas Managed Fund, African Rainbow Energy and Power, Reatile Group, Phakwe Solar and the Cicada Community Trust. This plant forms part of the REIPPP Bid Window 4. Based in the North West province, the 75MW solar photovoltaic plant achieved commercial operation on the 22nd of November 2020. juwi Renewable Energies, was the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, and handed the completed site over to the juwi operations and maintenance team in November 2020.
