The Reatile Foundation Trust provides assistance and financial relief to communities by contributing towards established non-profit organisations within the communities who are under financial constraints.

Ikholwa Community Services
This NPO was established in 2002 and is situated in the Weltevreden Park area in Roodepoort, and care for 22 children.
The home is a registered Child and Youth Care Centre whereby the Department of Social Development place children via the courts. Placements can be short or long term. The ideal objective is to reunite children with family once the family and home situation is conducive to the child returning home, sadly that is very seldom the case.
The Reatile Foundation Trust recently stepped in to provide extensive repairs and maintenance for the local community home, a place they observed to have a truly loving relationships and homely atmosphere despite its dire need for renovations. Moved by the positive environment, the Trust was delighted to be in a position to assist, undertaking significant work that will greatly improve the living conditions for residents. The Reatile Foundation Trust recently completed extensive repair and maintenance work on Grace House and Hope House, significantly upgrading both residences.
The comprehensive project addressed key areas within both homes, including their lounges, dining rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, passages, and entrance halls. Crucially, all 10 bedrooms across the 2 houses received much-needed attention. In addition to the interior renovations, substantial roof work was carried out on the exterior of both Grace House and Hope House, ensuring their long-term structural integrity.
Rosettenville Baby Home

The home was registered in 2001 and is located in the south of Johannesburg.They provide care for 12 babies aged 0-5yrs of age who were neglected, abused or dumped by the mother. The home is haven situated in an area that is beset with drugs, prostitution, crime and human trafficking.
The recent refurbishment comprehensively addressed the home's exterior and structural integrity through extensive roof repairs, damp-proofing, waterproofing, and the installation of new gutters and downpipes. Interior revitalization included painting ceilings, replacing ceiling boards, cornices, and skirtings, installing new tiling, and applying fresh paint throughout, notably in a replastered and painted care worker's room. Fixture upgrades encompassed resealing the bathtub, repairing cupboards, fitting new curtains, and painting window frames and sills. These essential repairs and maintenance efforts have significantly enhanced the home's comfort and overall condition for its residents.
These repairs and maintenance efforts ensure the home is now a more comfortable and well-maintained environment for its residents.
Meals on Wheels
Thousands of beneficiaries
Established in 1964 and located in Haddon, Johannesburg, the organization operates over 700 points across the country, serving more than 90,000 meals monthly from its Haddon site alone. The organization recently completed extensive repair and maintenance work on a local community property. The comprehensive project addressed significant structural and aesthetic issues, including a complete roof overhaul, damp-proofing, and the replacement of all ceiling boards, cornices, and skirting boards.
Exterior enhancements included replacing rotted gutters and rafters and fitting new down-pipes. Furthermore, major repair and reinforcement work was performed on exterior walls to ensure the building’s structural integrity. Interior improvements involved new lighting, tiling, and windowpanes, as well as the installation of a new extractor fan and blinds in the main office. These upgrades have significantly enhanced the property’s safety, functionality, and overall appearance for the community it serves.
Girls & Boys Town Randfontein

The NPO was founded in 1958 and is situated in the Randfontein area. The organization was founded by Father Reginald Orsmond, and help troubled youth by providing care, love and direction, and giving the kids the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to function well in society.
The Reatile Foundation Trust recently undertook significant maintenance work on a local community home, focusing on essential renovations for three of its eight cottages, as well as the laundry room, storeroom, and patios. The extensive project addressed critical areas, including:
Structural Integrity: Comprehensive roof repairs, waterproofing, damp-proofing, and the replacement of fascia boards were completed. The team also repaired and reconstructed purlins and valleys on the cottage roofs and secured existing roof tiles. Interior Refurbishment: This involved plastering and painting all rooms in the three renovated cottages, repairing and painting asbestos shower ceilings, and replacing and painting damaged ceiling tiles. Carpentry and Fittings: The storeroom received carpentry work, while cupboards were repaired, and new interior doors and painted skirtings were supplied and fitted in the cottages.
This substantial effort by The Reatile Foundation Trust has significantly improved the living conditions and functionality of the home's facilities.
Woodside Sanctuary

Woodside was established 1955, and currently takes careof 85 patients. The organisation was founded by Vernon and Norah Veale, who themselves had a"special needs"child.
At the time there was no centre that provided special care for children and adults
born with profound mental and physical disabilities. They realised that they would have to build a centre that would safely care for people with these disabilities.
The requested donation was for extensive renovations including, repairs and maintenance
on the exterior of the Herbert Baker building, new gutters, downpipes, rafters, barge boards, damp proofing,facia boards, eaves, replacement of windows and frames, and ad hock work.
Lambano Sanctuary

The organisation was registered in 2001 by Melanie Prinsloo, and serve as a medical step-down facility for children and adults. These are patients who have suffered events due to illness, injury or disease, and who no longer require intensive and/or invasive medical procedures. The centre can also be classed as a centre for sub-acute patients, patients in recovery. Patients come here for rehabilitative care and treatment, and receive exceptional medical care, and families of these patients have their social needs met as well.
The centre has 4 homes one of which a dedicated Pediatric Hospice with the focus being on HIV positive children aged 11 to 22yrs. After treatment and rehabilitation some of these children will move into a house on the property specifically set aside for orphans who have no home or family to go to.
Extensive repairs and maintenance were conducted on three houses at the centre. This comprehensive project included roof repairs, the repair and replacement of rafters, and damp-proofing for several walls. Additionally, skirting and cornices were fixed or replaced, ceilings were repaired and painted, and window frames were replaced. The project also encompassed painting the interior and exterior of all houses, addressing cracks on one exterior wall, and painting doors.

Arise and Shine Hope Centre

The NGO was started in 2005 by Noah Freedom Park, and the name later changed to
Arise and Shine Hope Centre.Freedom Park is a community that was previously an informal settlement.
The area is plagued by poverty and unemployment, and this centre brings hope and delivers excellent service to the community.
The centre serves as a creche, aftercare centre and a drop-in centre.The Early Childhood Development Centre caters for 55 babies and children up to the age of 6yrs.The aftercare Programme caters for 140 children and youth from 6year to 18years of age. The donation included the following: extensive maintenance and repair work,an ablution block, a jungle gym, cupboards, tiling, flooring, roof work, painting, ramps, stepscarport with a shade net, etc.
Uitkoms home for Girls

The home started up in 1944 as a shelter for pregnant and homeless young ladies, and in 1999registered as a place of safety for young girls who are destitute, orphaned, abused and neglected.
Once their babies are born, they will stay at the home whilst suckling and later transferred to a baby home. They currently have 22 young adults in the home, aged 12 to 21yrs.The Trust has assisted them previously with plumbing, tiling, painting and waterproofing.
Their donation request for the current year focuses on essential repairs to the property. These include addressing leaks in both the study centre, ceiling and a bedroom, repairing damaged fascial boards, mending steps, and retiling the lounge area.
Skills to Furnish Internationals

The NGO is situated in Village Main in Johannesburg and has been in operation for over 23 years. This organization is a registered NGO and NPO, holding SETA accreditation as well as specific accreditation with the Fibre Processing & Manufacturing Sector Education and Training Authority and the Department of Social Development.
They specialize in teaching furniture manufacturing to young individuals, significantly impacting the lives of many youth and their families. Through strategic partnerships with employers, they successfully facilitate employment for their trained beneficiaries. These include previously unemployed and destitute young men and women (both physically disabled and able-bodied), women from shelters, street children, and individuals with hearing impairments from DEAFSA. The majority of these individuals are now employed, with some even becoming entrepreneurs and actively contributing to society. The organisation currently has over 90 youth in training.
The donation request for extensive repairs and maintenance including major roof repairs including insulation, replacement of ceiling boards, painting of walls, replacement /repairs and painting of cornices and skirtings, lighting and tiling.
SHE Power – Menstrual cups

The organisation was registered as an NGO in 2022 and they manufacture menstrual cups. This was in response to the dire need for a sustainable solution to the problem of learners missing out several days of schooling every month. The use of a menstrual cup ensures learning goes on uninterrupted during this cycle in a girl's life, and ensures that she does not suffer shame during her menstruation, neither resort to taking measures that are unhealthy and detrimental to her health.
The menstrual cups can be used up to 10 years, and a casing is provided for storage. We have selected Landulwazi Comprehensive School as a beneficiary. They are based in Thokoza. The school had a 97% matric pass rate last year, and they excel in academics and sport. The school has 1507 learners, 920 of whom are females that could benefit from this donation.

The facility has been operating since 1971, and is situated in Eldorado Park, on the outskirts of Soweto and a very impoverished community. The home is a retirement and assisted living facility, providing good quality home-based care.
They currently have 78 residents and a staff of 45 inclusive of care workers and nurses, to provide 24 hour medical care. Their donation request is for repairs and maintenance including tiling, damp proofing, repairs and painting of cornices and skirting, repairs and painting of doors.
Abraham Kriel Johanna Malan ECD Centre

The ECD Centre, which later came under the wing of Abraham Kriel, was started by Johanna Malan who was passionate about children's development, intellectual stimulation and childhood education. The centre serves children aged 3 to 6 years of age, most of whom come from the impoverished surrounding communities.
The project extended for a full revamp of the kitchen and replacement of ceiling tiles. This was an order issued by the Health Inspector for the centre to continue getting funding and being able to keep the establishment in compliance.
Abraham Kriel Bambanani

The NGOwas established in 1902 by Rev. Abraham Kriel, for children who were orphaned during the South African war. They provide shelter, care, rehabilitation and skills development for children and youth in need in the greater Johannesburg region. These are children and youth who have suffered severe physical and mental trauma, abuse, neglect and poverty. The home is a haven for the children. The children will live at the home until they have completed schooling, and some of the will graduate from college or university. There are 7 homes at the Langlaagte campus and have 13 other sites including Westbury and Soweto.
The project entailed extensive repairs on 2 of the 7 houses on the property, including, painting the interior of both houses of 13 rooms each, complete overhaul of the kitchen, damp proofing of several walls, waterproofing, repairs and replacing of skirtings and cornices, build shelves in the wardrobes, installed additional wardrobes, replace rotted rafters, downpipes and gutters, fix and paint and replace doors, ceiling boards, etc.

Conquest for Life is a Youth run and managed Community Based Social Enterprise started in October 1995 in the township of Westbury.
The Reatile Foundation Trust funded and attended to much needed repairs and maintenance work and revamped the entire centre that included a new roof.
YENZANI CHILDREN’S HOME

Established in 2002 in the Midrand area, the home cares for youngsters between the ages of 4 years and 18 years that have suffered violence and various forms of abuse.
EPWORTH CHILDREN’S VILLAGE

Reatile Foundation Trust gave the 102-year-old Epworth Children’s Home in Lambton a facelift. The home underwent major repairs and maintenance earlier this year, sponsored by The Reatile Foundation Trust.
The maintenance and repairs included roofing, painting, flooring, ceilings, and a kitchen makeover.
LIFE 4 U FOUNDATION
Over 500 beneficiaries
The centre was established in 2013 and is located in Tembisa, Gauteng.
Reatile Foundation Trust assisted with waterproofing, damp-proofing, painting, roof work, cover in the feeding area, shelter outside of the centre and the installation of a gas geyser with a cage.
LOVE OF GOD DISABILITY FOUNDATION

Establish in 2015 in Ivory Park, Gauteng for the upliftment of the disabled and unemployed youth in the community running various skills development projects and a feeding scheme for the community.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored the upgrade of ablution facilities and additional toilets to make it disabled-friendly, provided and converted a container to be used for sewing classes, kitchen revamp, building a concrete slab in the courtyard, building ramps with handrails and did some plumbing and electrical work and donated wheelchairs.

GERALD FITZPATRICK HOUSE AND NURSING HOME

Established in 1929, this Home that is located in in Bertrams in Johannesburg accommodates up to 85 pensioners including frail care and old age pensioners.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored repairs and maintenance including roof and ceiling repairs, painting, flooring, plumbing and gutters.
TLC CHILDREN’S HOME

Located in Walkerville, Johannesburg South and established in 2007, the home cares for babies and toddlers who will get adopted before they reach 3 years of age. Reatile Foundation Trust built a structure to hold 2 water tanks and also installed blinds in several rooms.

Every year Reatile Foundation Trust partners with Vision 4 Change to pay for eye tests, spectacles, and stationery bags at public schools in need. In 2023, two schools benefitted, namely:
Thusang Primary School where 770 children were tested, in Leeudoringstad in the North West Province.

MARIE’S HOME FOR ABANDONED KIDS

Located in Mayfair West, Johannesburg and established in 1979, the home houses orphaned, abused or neglected children brought to them by the Department of Social Development.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored minor maintenance work at the home this year, with major renovations having been done in the previous year by Reatile Foundation Trust.

HOME OF MOTHER AND CHILD
Based in Ennerdale, the ‘Home of Mother and Child’ organisation helps children who have been abused or abandoned. They also assist mothers who are unable to provide for their children on their own. This home plays an important role in helping to raise these children and sending them to school. To create a safe environment for the children, The Reatile Foundation Trust assisted with renovations to homes and a playground for children.
LESEDI DAY CARE CENTRE
This Centre provides day care for the children of farm workers as well as children from nearby communities. The Reatile Foundation Trust provided containers to be used as classrooms by the children.
THE LOVE ONES OF GOD
‘The Love Ones of God’ works alongside the South African Police Services, welfare, and hospitals for help with cases that they come in contact with that require accommodation and further assistance. This includes pensioners, people with disabilities, low-income families with children, and the unemployed. The Reatile Foundation Trust upgraded two bathrooms for this NPO.
HLAKANANG DROP IN CENTRE
The centre runs an after school feeding scheme for children in the community. In most cases, this is the only meal that they receive for the entire day as most of the kids are from child-headed households, orphans and some who are living with the grandparents. The Reatile Foundation Trust supplied and installed two containers for the Centre that have been converted into a classroom and a kitchen.
VISION FOR CHANGE
The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with Vision for Change, a Non-Profit Organisation that provides eye tests and glasses to historically disadvantaged children. The Trust nominated the Zenzeleni Primary School in Alexandra Township where 1010 children received eye tests and 72 children were found to have eye problems and were provided with prescription glasses.
SMILE FOUNDATION
The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with the Smile Foundation, which provides reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities. The Trust also donated a cot to Rhima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Auckland Park.
