MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN HONOUR OF NELSON MANDELA

REATILE Foundation, together with Egoli Gas, recently held a Mandela Day event at United Cerebral Palsy Association in Townsview.

The team spent the morning cleaning, painting and gardening. The United Cerebral Palsy Association was presented with a cheque donation to the value of R100 000 as part of the Egoli Gas Golf Day that took place on August 30. Bedding, curtains, potting soil, seedlings and plants were also donated.

The residents were excited to have visitors, the youngest of them being 11-years-old and the oldest 52. Head of stimulation, Natasha Roumeliotis, commented on her work with the residents, “God’s moulded me my entire life for this. The love you feel here is so pure. It reminds you how often people take life for granted.”

Reatile Foundation’s chairperson Simphiwe Mehlomakulu added, “We are passionate about corporate social development, education, infrastructure and health equipment, and it’s wonderful that we are able to do this and make a difference.”

The teams were hard at work making a visible difference and the residents of United Cerebral Palsy Association felt truly special.
