Matla A Bokone Solar is 100% South African-owned by Old Mutual Ideas Managed Fund, African Rainbow Energy and Power, Reatile Group, Phakwe Solar and the Cicada Community Trust. This plant forms part of the REIPPP Bid Window 4. Based in the Northern Cape, near Kimberly, the 75MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant achieved commercial operation on the 7th of March 2020. juwi Renewable Energies, was the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, and handed the completed site over to the juwi operations and maintenance team in March 2020
Matla A Bokone Solar comprises 261 360 solar modules on 278 hectares of agricultural land.
