The vision of The Reatile Foundation Trust is to eradicate inequality by improving the quality of life of disadvantaged communities over the world.
The Reatile Group’s vision is centred around doing good, sustainable business in Southern Africa and to harness the company’s growth not only for the shareholders’ benefit, but also for the benefit of the Reatile Group’s employees, the industry as a whole, and the community in which it operates.
The Reatile Foundation is a fundamental part of the Group’s raison d’être. We value enabling others to grow and develop from our staff members to the wider community. Ultimately, this is what we firmly believe in, what motivates us, and what we thrive on. Among our proudest achievements is the fact that the Reatile Group has created hundreds of new jobs and that through our continued hard work and success, we are able to assist the greater community and areas of need in South Africa.
The Reatile Foundation Trust serves a number of developmental and social upliftment projects which include a tertiary education scholarship program, community upliftment programs, providing assistance to other Non-Profit Organisations and in doing so, making a difference in disadvantaged communities.
“Since its incorporation in 2013 The Reatile Foundation Trust donated in excess of R26.7 million (up to its financial year ending 28 February 2023) to communities and historical disadvantaged individuals across South Africa.”
BURSARIES
UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG
In 2019, The Reatile Foundation Trust awarded ten bursaries to historically disadvantaged students at the University of Johannesburg in the following disciplines:

SCHOLARSHIPS
RUTA SECHABA FOUNDATION
In partnership with the Ruta Sechaba Foundation, The Reatile Foundation Trust proudly sponsored a total of twenty students for the 2019 school year, including:
Ten students at Curro Meridian in Cosmo City, and
Ten students at Cosmo Academy in Soshanguve.

SCHOLARSHIPS
STUDENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME (SSP)
The Reatile Foundation Trust partnered with SSP, which is a non-profit organisation that provides education opportunities to talented South African learners from low-income homes. Three scholars from Grade 8 and one scholar from Grade 9 were sponsored by The Reatile Foundation Trust for the 2019 academic year.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTH
The Reatile Foundation Trust provides assistance and financial relief to communities by contributing towards established non-profit organisations within the communities who are under financial constraints.

CONQUEST FOR LIFE

Conquest for Life is a Youth run and managed Community Based Social Enterprise started in October 1995 in the township of Westbury.
The Reatile Foundation Trust funded and attended to much needed repairs and maintenance work and revamped the entire centre that included a new roof.
YENZANI CHILDREN’S HOME
16 beneficiaries
Established in 2002 in the Midrand area, the home cares for youngsters between the ages of 4 years and 18 years that have suffered violence and various forms of abuse.
EPWORTH CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
69 beneficiaries
Reatile Foundation Trust gave the 102-year-old Epworth Children’s Home in Lambton a facelift. The home underwent major repairs and maintenance earlier this year, sponsored by The Reatile Foundation Trust.
The maintenance and repairs included roofing, painting, flooring, ceilings, and a kitchen makeover.
LIFE 4 U FOUNDATION
Over 500 beneficiaries
The centre was established in 2013 and is located in Tembisa, Gauteng.
Reatile Foundation Trust assisted with waterproofing, damp-proofing, painting, roof work, cover in the feeding area, shelter outside of the centre and the installation of a gas geyser with a cage.
LOVE OF GOD DISABILITY FOUNDATION
30 beneficiaries
Establish in 2015 in Ivory Park, Gauteng for the upliftment of the disabled and unemployed youth in the community running various skills development projects and a feeding scheme for the community.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored the upgrade of ablution facilities and additional toilets to make it disabled-friendly, provided and converted a container to be used for sewing classes, kitchen revamp, building a concrete slab in the courtyard, building ramps with handrails and did some plumbing and electrical work and donated wheelchairs.
THE SMILE FOUNDATION

Reatile Foundation Trust has a long-standing partnership with The Smile Foundation, and in 2023 donated toward reconstructive surgery on 8 children during Smile Week that took place at the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital in Kimberley.
GERALD FITZPATRICK HOUSE AND NURSING HOME
80 beneficiaries
Established in 1929, this Home that is located in in Bertrams in Johannesburg accommodates up to 85 pensioners including frail care and old age pensioners.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored repairs and maintenance including roof and ceiling repairs, painting, flooring, plumbing and gutters.
TLC CHILDREN’S HOME
25 beneficiaries
Located in Walkerville, Johannesburg South and established in 2007, the home cares for babies and toddlers who will get adopted before they reach 3 years of age. Reatile Foundation Trust built a structure to hold 2 water tanks and also installed blinds in several rooms.
THE FOUNDATION FOR CHILDREN WITH HEARING LOSS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Reatile Foundation Trust annually donates to the foundation to directly fund cochlear implants for children.
VISION 4 CHANGE

Every year Reatile Foundation Trust partners with Vision 4 Change to pay for eye tests, spectacles, and stationery bags at public schools in need. In 2023, two schools benefitted, namely:
Thusang Primary School where 770 children were tested, in Leeudoringstad in the North West Province.
Kumalo Primary School in Katlehong where 858 children were tested.
HOME OF MOTHER AND CHILD

Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored the home that was established in 1997 located in Ennerdale, Johannesburg South with much needed repairs and maintenance that included waterproofing, gutter repairs, tiling, carpentry, ceiling repairs and electrical rewiring, plumbing and curtains. The Trust also supplied and installed a jungle gym for the children.
The home provides a place of safety for children who are orphaned, abused or neglected
UITKOMS HOME FOR GIRLS

Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored repairs and maintenance work that included plumbing, tiling, painting and waterproofing
The home started up in 1944 as a shelter for pregnant and homeless young ladies, and in 1999 registered as a place of safety for young girls who are destitute, orphaned, abused and neglected.
MARIE’S HOME FOR ABANDONED KIDS
22 beneficiaries
Located in Mayfair West, Johannesburg and established in 1979, the home houses orphaned, abused or neglected children brought to them by the Department of Social Development.
Reatile Foundation Trust sponsored minor maintenance work at the home this year, with major renovations having been done in the previous year by Reatile Foundation Trust.

HOME OF MOTHER AND CHILD
Based in Ennerdale, the ‘Home of Mother and Child’ organisation helps children who have been abused or abandoned. They also assist mothers who are unable to provide for their children on their own. This home plays an important role in helping to raise these children and sending them to school. To create a safe environment for the children, The Reatile Foundation Trust assisted with renovations to homes and a playground for children.
LESEDI DAY CARE CENTRE
This Centre provides day care for the children of farm workers as well as children from nearby communities. The Reatile Foundation Trust provided containers to be used as classrooms by the children.
THE LOVE ONES OF GOD
‘The Love Ones of God’ works alongside the South African Police Services, welfare, and hospitals for help with cases that they come in contact with that require accommodation and further assistance. This includes pensioners, people with disabilities, low-income families with children, and the unemployed. The Reatile Foundation Trust upgraded two bathrooms for this NPO.
HLAKANANG DROP IN CENTRE
The centre runs an after school feeding scheme for children in the community. In most cases, this is the only meal that they receive for the entire day as most of the kids are from child-headed households, orphans and some who are living with the grandparents. The Reatile Foundation Trust supplied and installed two containers for the Centre that have been converted into a classroom and a kitchen.
VISION FOR CHANGE
The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with Vision for Change, a Non-Profit Organisation that provides eye tests and glasses to historically disadvantaged children. The Trust nominated the Zenzeleni Primary School in Alexandra Township where 1010 children received eye tests and 72 children were found to have eye problems and were provided with prescription glasses.
SMILE FOUNDATION
The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with the Smile Foundation, which provides reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities. The Trust also donated a cot to Rhima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Auckland Park.
