THE VISION OF THE REATILE FOUNDATION TRUST

The vision of the Reatile Foundation Trust is to eradicate inequality by improving the quality of life of disadvantaged communities over the world.

 

The Reatile Group’s vision is centered around doing good, sustainable business in Southern Africa and to harness the company’s growth – not only for shareholders benefit, but also for the benefit of Reatile Group’s employees, the industry as a whole and the community in which it operates.

 

The Reatile Foundation is a fundamental part of the Group’s raison d’être. “We value enabling others to grow and develop: from our staff members to the wider community. At the end of the day, this is what we firmly believe in, what motivates us and what we thrive on. Among our proudest achievements is the fact that the Reatile Group has created literally hundreds of new jobs and that through our continued hard work and success, we are able to assist the greater community and areas of need in South Africa.

 

The Reatile Foundation Trust serves a number of developmental and social upliftment projects, which include a tertiary education scholarship program, community upliftment programs, providing assistance to other Non-Profit Organisations and making a difference in disadvantaged communities.

BURSARIES

UNIVERSITY OF JOHANNESBURG

 

In 2019, The Reatile Foundation Trust awarded ten (10) bursaries to historically disadvantaged students at University of Johannesburg in the following disciplines:

 

  • B-Tech Industrial Engineering (1 Student)
  • B-Degree Industrial Engineering (2 Student)
  • B-Tech Operations Management (2 Students)
  • B-Tech Building Science (4 Students)
  • B-Tech Metallurgical Engineering (1 Student)

 

SCHOLARSHIPS

RUTA SECHABA FOUNDATION

 

In partnership with the Ruta Sechaba Foundation, The Reatile Foundation Trust proudly sponsored a total of twenty (20) students for the 2019 school year, being

 

  • ten (10) students at Curro Meridian in Cosmo City; and
  • ten (10) students at Cosmo Academy in Soshanguve.

SCHOLARSHIPS

STUDENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME (SSP)

 

The Reatile Foundation Trust partnered with SSP, which is a non-profit organisation that provide education opportunities to talented South African learners from low-income homes.  Three (3) scholars from Grade 8 and one (1) scholar from grade 9 is sponsored by the Reatile Foundation Trust for the 2019 school year.

 

SOCIO-ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT & HEALTH

The Reatile Foundation Trust provides assistance and financial relief to communities by contributing towards established non-profit organisations within the communities who are under financial constraints.

 

HOME OF MOTHER AND CHILD

 

Based in Ennerdale, the ‘Home of Mother and Child’ organisation helps children who have been abused or abandoned. They also assist mothers who can’t provide for their children on their own. This home plays a big role in helping to raise these children and sending them to school.  To create a safe environment for the children, the Reatile Foundation Trust assisted with rennovations to the home and a playground for children.

 

LESEDI DAY CARE CENTRE

 

This Centre provides day care for the children of farm workers and nearby communities.  The Reatile Foundation Trust provided containers to be used as classrooms by the children

 

 

THE LOVE ONES OF GOD

 

‘The Love Ones of God’ work alongside with the SAP, welfare and Hospitals for help regarding cases that they come in contact with that is needed of accommodation and assistance.   This include pensioners, people with disabilities, low income families with children and the unemployed. The Reatile Foundation Trust upgraded two bathrooms for the NPO.

 

HLAKANANG DROP IN CENTRE

 

The Centre runs a feeding scheme for the children in the community, providing them with meals after school.  In most cases, this is the only meal that they receive for the enetire day as most of the kids are from Child-headed families, orphans and some are living with the grandparents.  The Reatile Foundation Trust supplied and installed two containers for the Centre that are converted to a classroom and a kitchen.

 

VISION FOR CHANGE

 

The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with Vision for Change, a Non-Profit Organisation that provide eye tests and glasses to the Historical Disadvantaged children.  The Trust nominated  the Zenzeleni Primary School in Alexandra Townshipwhere 1010 children received eye tests and 72 children were found to have eye problems and were provided with prescribed glassess.

SMILE FOUNDATION

 

The Reatile Foundation Trust collaborated with the Smile Foundation that provide reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities.  The Trust donated a cot to Rhima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital in Auckland Park.
